Candy Cane Santa is
from Cologne, Germany. In 1670, his great, great, great, great, great
grandfather
invented the candy cane by bending sugar sticks in the shape
of a shepherd's staff. He would then give
them to the children of the
congregation to keep them occupied during the notoriously long-winded
nativity
services. Only, back then, they were all white. |
